The Shotokan Karate Brunei Darussalam team comprising 55 karatekas, ranging from kids as young as eight to the senior category, collected 10 gold, 15 silver and 16 bronze medals in the recent second Shitokai Brunei Open Karate Championship at the Multipurpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium Sports Complex.
Over 200 athletes from local karate dojos, as well as karate teams from Malaysia, the Philippines and India competed in the three-day competition, which ran from December 1-3.
The Shotokan Karate team will be competing in the upcoming EMZSK Championship 2023 in Miri, Sarawak in the weekend.
