Members of the Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Rover Scouts Troop attended a briefing on the Messenger of Peace (MoP) Programme on Sunday, an initiative aimed at promoting peace and harmony worldwide.
The session, at the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) headquarters in Kampong Beribi, was attended by 20 troop members and led by International Commissioner Skip Ritchie Siabu, who serves as the MoP coordinator.
The MoP programme encourages the younger generation to participate in activities that positively impact the society and the environment.
The idea for the programme emerged from the 2010 World Scout Conference, where scout leaders worldwide discussed global challenges and identified the need for an initiative that could inspire scout members to engage in efforts to promote peace. – Lyna Mohamad
