The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) held an Islamic new year of 1444 Hijrah ceremony at the Conference Room of the PPNBD Headquarters, Jalan Gadong.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar by the scout team of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School, Kampong Rimba and Doa Selamat by Temburong Assistant District Scout Commissioner – Religious Section Md Amrull bin Haji Ariffin.
The ceremony continued with juzuks of Al-Quran by Mas Hazlam Syiblee Mundzir bin Nasrun Sumur Hakim, a finalist of Johore Scouts International Quran Festival recently, and a talk ‘Pecaya Tah’ by Haji Ali Yusri bin Haji Abdul Ghafor, discussing topics such as making changes to be a better person, knowledge that needs to be applied in line with the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) philosophy so that it is in line with the country’s policy.
PPNBD President Dato Paduka Ar Haji Idris bin Haji Abas was the guest of honour. Chief Commissioner Haji Awang Badar bin Haji Awang Ali and members of the National Scout Council, scout commissioners and scout leaders were also present.
