School highlights successes in IB diploma examinations

Jerudong International School (JIS) congratulated a number of its students for achieving outstanding results for their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma examinations.

The school noted that their overall average score was 34.83, above the global average of 30.24. Around 76 per cent of its students exceeded the world average, it said, with 41 per cent achieving 36 points or above.

The school said Han Hor and Tania Teo achieved the highest score of 44 points. Han will be studying international relations and history at London School of Economics (LSE) while Tanya will pursue pharmacy in the University College London.

Rui Yi Ang achieved 42 points and will also go to the LSE to study politics, philosophy and economics.

Haziq Kasmirhan and Sahana Rajinikanth achieved 41. Haziq is applying to study medicine in Australia while Sahana will pursue International Social and Public Policy in LSE.

Issy Hassall and Najwa Shahadan achieved 40 points. Issy is taking a gap year while Najwa will study aircraft maintenance engineering and management in Scotland.

Widad Sahraini, Zara Raymin and Tasya Juraimi achieved 38 points while Ameerah Redzuan and Hannah Turner scored 36 points.

JIS Principal Nicholas Sheehan said, “While these top performing students will leave JIS, they will be remembered more by their fellow students for the significant impact as young leaders in the school and the influence they have had on those around them.

“They have set an excellent example to the younger members of our community.”
