    School celebrates 93rd anniversary

Over 1,000 participated in St John’s School’s 93rd anniversary dinner at the Pusat Insani in Seria, Belait District on Friday.

The event began with the students singing the national anthem and school song, followed by a speech from principal Dr Teh Keng Watt.

She briefed the attendees on the school’s history, from a small wooden hut to its current permanent building in Jalan Bunga Raya, Kuala Belait.

Meanwhile, the school’s board of governors chairman Lee Yin Fah said, “It is with great pleasure that we welcome you all to this significant milestone and event. This is a great achievement for the school, having existed since 1930. I believe that it has achieved its status as one of the country’s renowned private institutions and schools.”

The celebration continued with dinner served alongside the myriad of multi-cultural performances ranging from traditional to the trendiest songs and dances performed by the students. – Daniel Lim
