The celebration of Saudi National Day on September 23 reflects the strength and cohesion of Saudi people behind their leadership and their support for the efforts aimed at developing the country in the light of the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, King of Saudi Arabia.
This was stated by the Ambassador Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam Muhammed bin Abdullah Al-Buraithin on the occasion of the National Day of Saudi Arabia.
The celebration emphasises the belief of the people of Saudi Arabia in the strength and ability of the country in facing challenges and difficulties. Saudi Arabia celebrates its 93rd National Day while it accomplished the advancements and prosperity that it aspires.
Saudi Arabia’s economy is witnessing continuous growth and prosperity, and the kingdom is now ranked as the fastest growing economy in the world and occupies 17th position among G20 countries in terms of its gross domestic product (GDP).
Saudi Arabia has become a unique tourism destination in the Middle East due to its tourist attractions which include coastal areas along the Red Sea and the Arabia Gulf, the desert and other destinations for family tourism, in addition to the entertainment cities, tourism centres and historical places in various parts of the kingdom, he added.
The ambassador highlighted the goals and aspirations of the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030 whose essence is based on the kingdom’s key pivotal strengths, such as being the place for the Two Holy Mosques, the most sacred place on earth and the Qiblat (direction of worship) for over a billion Muslims, making it central to the Arabic and Islamic worlds.
The kingdom also aims to utilise its investment power to create a diversified and sustainable economy, and leverage its strategic location to enhance its world position as a major driver of international trade, and to link the three continents (Africa-Asia-Europe). The vision comprises three major pillars – a vibrant society, a thriving economy and ambitious nation.
The ambassador said, “By Allah the Almighty’s grace, the pillars as well as their embedded objectives would lead the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the envisioned bright future.”
He also touched on the relations between the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Brunei Darussalam, “which has been possible due to the great care of the leadership of our two brotherly countries”.
He stressed that the ties between Saudi Arabia and Brunei are continuously progressing towards greater prosperity and excellence, noting the exchange of visits between the leadership of two countries and between the senior officials in the governments aimed at enhancing the frameworks of constructive cooperation and consolidate the bilateral values. – Azlan Othman
