His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office as the Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) launched 31 new books published by the university to mark its Mahrajan Hafl Al-Takharruj at Sinaut Campus in Tutong District.
The books, on various topics and fields, were written by local and foreign authors.
There were 11 books in Malay Language, 10 in English, three in Arabic and one al-Shafi’i monograph on Maqasid Syariah and law, Usuluddin, management, astronomy, Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB), translation, literature, agriculture and food security. The books were published in accordance with this year’s Mahrajan celebration theme ‘Future Transformation of Modern Agriculture and Halal Food Security: Mastering New Horizons’.
Six journals were published: three editions of Ar-Ra’iq, two editions of Al-Shafi’i: International Journal of Islamic Contemporary Studies and an edition of Journal of Halal Science and Technology.
UNISSA Press also maintained its collaborative publishing ties by publishing three books with foreign universities – International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Press and Islamic University of Selangor (UIS) Malaysia. His Royal Highness received all the newly-published books following the launch. – Azlan Othman
