Over 250 religious school teachers from Brunei II ‘B’ gathered for a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony. The annual event organised by the Committee of Religious School Leaders (JKPPSU) for Brunei II ‘B’ took place at the Multi-purpose Hall of Pengiran Anak Puteri Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bokiah Religious School in Serusop.
The ceremony aimed to enrich the spiritual significance of Ramadhan through the recitation of Al-Quran while also strengthening ties among religious educators. Acting Assistant Director (Professional) at the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Ayop bin Haji Ghani was the guest of honour.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by the guest of honour, followed by the recitation of selected Al-Quran verses and Doa Khatam. The ceremony was further enlivened with a zikir performance, accompanied by the traditional sprinkling of scented oil, before concluding with the Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam. The JKPPSU Brunei II ‘B’ has been organising this event annually as part of efforts to promote religious devotion during Ramadhan and foster unity among educators in the Islamic education sector. – Fadley Faisal
