Former students of Sixth Form Centre (PTE) Classic Jalan Muara, class of 1975 to 1978 organised an Al-Quran reading ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 76th birthday celebration at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis Madang yesterday.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by guest of honour Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi.
It proceeded with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Baqarah, Sayyidul Istighfar, Selawat Tafrijiyyah and concluded with the recitation of Doa selamat and Doa Kesyukuran for His Majesty.
PTE Classic Jalan Muara member and former Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong as well as 80 former students also attended.
