The new RPN Kampong Meragang Mosque is expected to be completed by January next year.
The new mosque, built on a 8.159-acre plot with an estimated BND4.3 million under the National Development Plan, began construction on March 30, 2020.
Yesterday, a cleaning campaign was held, joined by Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the MoRA, Village Head of RPN Kampong Meragang Zone 1 Madzlan bin Haji Jumat and Village Head of RPN Meragang Zone 2 Mohamad bin Haji Tamin.
Supervisor of Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque Zulkifli bin Haji Murat led the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat at the ceremony. The event aimed to ensure the cleanliness and purity of the new mosque before the carpet installation.
The new mosque will be able to hold 2,200 congregants and provide facilities such as toilets for persons with disabilities, lecture rooms, libraries, funeral management room and parking for persons with disabilities. – James Kon
