A tree planting event was held across all Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) camps yesterday, in conjunction with RBAF’s 61st anniversary celebration.

The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) held the primary focal event at Bolkiah Garrison, where Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd Kadir planted a Tabeula Rosea tree.

Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan was the guest of honour at the Special Force Regiment Camp.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary (Policy, Finance and Administration) at the MinDef Colonel (Rtd) Norsuriati binti Haji Sharbini was the guest of honour at the Tanah Jambu Camp.

Permanent Secretary (Development, Maintenance and Technology) at the MinDef Colonel (Rtd) Haji Mohd Norfahssin bin Haji Abdul Karim was the guest of honour at Penanjong Garrison.

Also in attendance were the RBAF Joint Force Commander, deputy permanent secretaries, deputy service commanders, senior officers, officers and personnel from the MinDef and RBAF.

A total of 640 trees were planted at the Bolkiah Garrison and the RBAF camps.

The tree planting event is an initiative by the MinDef in supporting the ‘Green Protocol’ guidelines under the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on RBAF premises.
