A contingent comprising 15 powerboat racers and crew members from the Powerboat Association of Brunei Darussalam (PBLBD) will represent the Sultanate to compete in the Bintangor Powerboat Race 2022, held in conjunction with Bintangor Festival 2022 in Sarawak.
Acting Belait District Officer Mohamad Yassin bin Haji Ahmed presented the national flag to PBLBD Secretariat General Hajah Siti Aisah binti Abdul Jalil during a ceremony at the Menara Cendera Kenangan yesterday.
According to Hajah Siti Aisah, six powerboats will be utilised for the competition.
The Brunei contingent will be competing in the 30hp (2 pistons) Tunnel Boat, 50hp (2 pistons) Tunnel Boat, and the SST60 Pro Class Tunnel Boat categories.
She shared the team is driven to compete in their first international competition since the COVID-19 pandemic. They will travel to Bintangor today, with the competition scheduled to take place on October 29-30.
