I was recently shopping at a mall in Gadong when I noticed a group of foreign uniformed personnel wandering around. They entered a restaurant only to learn that during Ramadhan, only takeaways are allowed. The visitors had obviously not been briefed beforehand on our laws.
It got me thinking about what tourists think of us. If we are serious about diversifying our economy through tourism, should we not revise some of our policies to ensure they are not hindrances to the country’s aspirations?
