The Brunei Darussalam contingent emerged victorious in the 8th Sabah Federation of Chinese Association Sabah (FCAS) International Dragon Boat Race 2023 at Likas Bay from June 17-18.
Team 1 SPTB was placed second in the two categories they competed in, the 200-metre (m) 12-rower category and 800m 20-rower category.
The team won MYR2,000 and medals for each of the category.
Among the contingent were 150 rowers spread out across five teams that include Team Lela Cheteria, Team Juragam Sungai Bunga Brunei Darussalam, Team Daerah Tutong, Juang Team, and Team 1 SPTB.
Organised by the FCAS in conjunction with the 38th National Chinese Cultural Festival, the race was held alongside other activities including the Likas Bay Torch Run and cultural performances such as a laminated dragon dance performance by the local dragon and lion dance troupes.
