Projek Ikan Pusu (PIP) emerged winners of the Under-12 NOSSA Brazilian Football Academy (BFA) League 2024 after finishing top of the table at the Royal Brunei Recreation Field recently.
The local grassroots football development programme secured the title by a single point ahead of runners-up BFA Brunei with Dash FA settling for third place.
The newly-crowned winners enjoyed a stellar campaign after leading the best attack with a whopping 53 goals and the best defence having conceded six in 14 matches.
Central to the team’s success was the guidance of Team Manager Rosnani binti Wahid and Coach Nor Khairunnisa binti Mohammad, thus embracing the inclusion of women in football.
PIP Manager Cheah Swee Ming thanked the participating teams for providing them a challenge throughout the tournament.
He said, “Everyone was aiming for PIP’s scalp, and luckily, we were able to survive the pressure each Sunday. We held on to win.”
Meanwhile, PIP Head Coach Haji Omar bin Haji Jamil said, “This victory is the result of extraordinary cooperation and tireless efforts from all coaches, committee members, parents and guardians, and dedicated PIP supporters.” – Fadhil Yunus
