The Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI), through the Muallaf Development Division, organised a Tedarus Al-Quran, sungkai, Sunnat Tarawih and Sunnat Witir prayers with Muslim converts (Muallaf) at Kampong Sibut Religious Hall in Temburong District on Thursday.
The Brunei Darussalam Mushaf Translation Publication Secretariat and Youth Religious Programme Secretariat participated in the programme.
Acting PDI Director Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, as head of delegation, as well as head of Muallaf Development Division Dr Hajah Rohanita binti Haji Yaakub and President of Temburong District Muslim Converts Association (PESAT) Muhd Ashim Amrullah bin Abdul Rahman were in attendance.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the head of delegation, followed by Tedarus Al-Quran and a Tahlil recitation.
The event aimed to encourage the converts to appreciate Ramadhan and strengthen ties between PDI members and the Temburong District muallaf.
A presentation of Sunnat Tarawih and Sunnat Witir prayers guidance book and Ratib Al-Attas book was also held. Religious Development Assistant Officer Haji Abdul Mu’iz bin Haji Amat delivered a lecture on ‘Kelebihan Bulan Ramadhan untuk Orang Islam Merebutnya’ during the event. – Rokiah Mahmud
