I wish to highlight a persistent issue at the entrance to our apartment area in Kampong Sumbiling, which floods every time it rains – even with light showers.
The situation worsens during heavy downpours, creating significant inconvenience for residents. Vehicles struggle to pass, and pedestrians are forced to wade through the water, posing safety hazards.
It appears this flooding may stem from a drainage problem, such as a clogged or poorly maintained drain.
I urge the authorities to investigate the root cause and take prompt action to resolve this issue.
Proper drainage is essential to prevent repeated flooding, especially as we enter the rainy season.
Another issue is the proximity to Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas, which attracts visitors who often park their vehicles in the residential area.
While I personally have no objections to this, it becomes frustrating when they park irresponsibly. Many block tenants’ vehicles or park in a way that makes it difficult for others to pass without risking scratches or bumps.
To provide a clearer understanding of the daily dilemmas we face, I’ve attached photos depicting both situations.
Residents should not have to endure these hassles every time it rains or face parking inconveniences. I hope this matter will receive the attention it deserves.
