Over 380kg of waste collected at Serasa Beach

A total of 382.6 kilogrammes of waste across 50 bags was collected to keep Serasa Beach pristine at a clean-up held by Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Green Brunei in conjunction with World Cleanup Day.

During the beach clean-up, the participants collectively worked together to remove litter and debris from the beach, which was then weighted and moved to the proper designated trash disposal area at the end of the event.

The beach clean-up was part of Hengyi Industries’ One Planet Initiative, a dedicated environmental programme aimed at preserving the natural beauty of the Sultanate’s beaches.

The initiative also plays a crucial role to help tackle beach pollution by reducing the litter on the shores, which pose a significant threat to marine animals which mistake it for food.

Some 45 Hengyi employees and 10 volunteers from Green Brunei participated.

The event began with a safety briefing by Green Brunei, followed by a short warm-up session.
