    Nurses hold leadership forum

The Brunei Darussalam Nurses Association (PENJURU) held a forum on leadership and management at the Ministry of Health yesterday.

Around 100 participants from educational institutions, government and private hospitals discussed issues and trends related to nursing and midwifery leadership and management.

The forum highlighted the importance of competent leadership and management skills in relation to safe, quality and efficient healthcare.

“Leadership and management skills are important to improve the capability of the nurses and midwives to collaborate with other health professionals to reduce workload and overcome issues and challenges regularly and systematically,” said the event organisers.

“As the backbone in contributing to health services, nurses and midwives must ensure that knowledge, skills and their practices are in line with the global developments.”

The forum was conducted in collaboration with the Nursing and Midwifery programme, Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences (PAPRSB IHS).

The forum was the fourth in a series that began in October 2023. The fifth and final forum will take place this month. – Rokiah Mahmud
