CNA – 42-year-old Malaysian actress, Nora Danish, and 41-year-old businessman, Nedim Nazri, officially ended their seven-year marriage on Wednesday, June 19.
The divorce follows Nora’s earlier acknowledgment to Malaysian media that their relationship had been going through difficulties and they were trying their best to resolve issues.
The divorce was finalised on Wednesday night at the Federal Territories Syariah Court in Kuala Lumpur.
Following the proceedings, Nora and Nedim addressed reporters stationed outside the courtroom.
Addressing the gathered reporters directly, Nora stated, “Thank you for being here at this late hour. I appreciate your dedication to your work, and I ask for your understanding as I share what I can tonight. My former husband and I have mutually decided to end our seven-year marriage. Our primary focus now is nurturing our children with love and positivity.”
She continued, “I sincerely hope there won’t be any speculations about our divorce. Maintaining harmony between our families is important to me, so I kindly ask for your prayers and support.”
Nedim later took to Instagram to say that “nothing has changed” between him and Nora and that “she just wasn’t (his) in Islam”.
He adds: “Trust that if she was mine, she will return to me.”
Nora and Nedim married in March 2017 and have a son together. She has another son from her previous marriage with businessman Rizal Ashram. Similarly, Nedim has another son from his previous marriage.
