New service centre breaks ground

Boustead Sdn Bhd held a ground-breaking ceremony for its new workshop and service centre at Pekan Belait Industrial Park yesterday.

Boustead senior management members – executive manager Lim Jin Lee, general manager of the Commercial Division Alex Yong Kan Hoo, finance manager Betty Yong Siing Eng, assistant general manager of the Commercial Division Haji Shahrum bin Haji Jaafar, after sales manager Chan Chee Seng and after sales manager of the Commercial Division Gordon George – officiated the ceremony.

The construction expected to start on July 16 is expected to be completed by early second quarter of next year.

The new fully-equipped centre will serve multiple brands under Boustead’s portfolio – Nissan, Suzuki, Volvo and UD Trucks as well as TCM Forklift and Fassi cranes.

The facility, under the commercial workshop section, can accommodate six trucks at any given time with its own service pit, brake tester, dust-free overhaul room and wheel alignment facility. All facilities are built based on Volvo Trucks standards.

The new facility will feature a reception, a waiting lounge and a children’s play area.

It will serve Kuala Belait customers and its surrounding areas with consideration of new service centres in the Tutong District and Muara.

“This is a significant milestone for us. We are overjoyed to see this project begin, following years of planning and considerations. The modern building and facility will be a landmark in Kuala Belait,” said the executive manager. – Daniel Lim
