Nationwide religious programme promotes crime awareness

A nationwide religious programme (PKS) for Arabic and Religious Schools was held simultaneously across the Sultanate on Thursday. The event was followed by a Crime Prevention Awareness Programme in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).

The programme featured a briefing on crime prevention by Acting Head of the Women and Child Abuse Crime Investigation Unit DSP Hajah Nur Amni Alyani binti Haji Abdul Rahman, an investigating officer from the Criminal Investigation Department, RBPF. The briefing aimed to increase awareness among students about different types of crimes and preventive measures, emphasising the importance of protecting themselves, their families and their property. It also sought to strengthen ties among the community, schools and the police.

The programme, at Pengiran Anak Puteri Masna Religious School Surau, was divided into two sessions.

A total of 14 schools, comprising Arabic and religious schools, participated online during the morning session, while the afternoon session saw online participation from around 147 religious schools. Assistant Director (Corporate Services) of the Islamic Studies Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haslinah Susanti binti Haji Md Hassan was the special guest in the morning session, while Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pengiran Khairul Hakimin bin Pengiran Haji Kamaludin, who is also the Assistant Commanding Officer of the Brunei Muara Police District was the special guest in the afternoon session.

The programme began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of Surah Taha and Selawat Tafrijiyyah. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam. – Azlan Othman
