    Munajat Ramadhan encourages collective prayers, reflection

    The 176th Munajat Ramadhan, organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) in collaboration with the Rabitah Antarabangsa Alumni Al-Azhar Brunei Darussalam, was held virtually on Saturday in conjunction with the World Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Day 1446 Hijrah.

    The event commenced with a Tadabbur Al-Quran session by Muhammad Jalalluddin bin Junaidi from Ash-Shaliheen Mosque. He reflected on Surah Al-Baqarah, verses 183 to 185, emphasising the significance of Ramadhan, the obligation of fasting for Muslims, and the divine mercy granted to those facing hardships, such as illness or travel. He also highlighted the special status of Ramadhan as the month in which Al-Quran was revealed.

    The Munajat Ramadhan session featured special guest, Ra’es of Rabitah Antarabangsa Alumni Al-Azhar Brunei Darussalam Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof who led the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.

    The gathering was further enriched by the participation of members of the Rabitah Antarabangsa Alumni Al-Azhar, Brunei Darussalam students studying in Egypt, as well as mosque takmir committee members and congregant from various mosques, suraus, and prayer halls across the country. Officials from the MoRA and its departments also joined the virtual session.

    The event continued with a collective recitation of Surah Ar-Rahman led by Muhammad Faaiz bin Fisol, a first-year student at Ma’had Qiraat Shoubra, Egypt. The Munajat prayer was delivered by Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Naib Ra’es I of Rabitah Antarabangsa Alumni Al-Azhar Brunei Darussalam, from Ash-Shaliheen Mosque.

    Following the Quranic reflections, the congregation recited Selawat Tafrijiyyah, led by Ahmad Nasyaruddin bin Haji Abdul Rahim, Head of the Religious and Morality Unit of the Brunei Darussalam Student Welfare Body in Egypt.

    This was followed by a special prayer for the protection and prosperity of Brunei Darussalam recited by Imam Level I of the Mosque Affairs Department Latif bin Haji Zaini from Kampong Tanjong Maya Mosque in Tutong. – Fadley Faisal
