New members for Mukim Consultative Council (MPM) of Mukim Kuala Belait were appointed during a meeting at the Kampong Pandan Community Hall on November 15.
“As customary for the committee, the committee from 2017 to 2024 will be dissolved to make way for renewed leadership that is representative of the communities found across Mukim Belait,” said Penghulu of Mukim Belait Haji Abdul Afiq bin Zainuddin. During the meeting, attendees raised their suggestions for the list of new committee members.
Haji Abdul Afiq will remain Chairman of MPM Kuala Belait while Md Aliyani bin Ismail was appointed Deputy Chairman.
Meanwhile, Md Sofian bin Haji Johari, Nordin bin Haji Besar and Haji Mohamad bin Tengah were appointed secretary, deputy secretary and treasurer.
The meeting also reviewed the outgoing committee’s achievements since 2017. – Daniel Lim
