Muda’s application to join Pakatan won’t affect seat negotiations

ANN/THE STAR – Malaysian United Democratic Alliance’s (Muda) application to join Pakatan Harapan would not affect ongoing seat negotiations among existing coalition party members, said Rafizi Ramli.

The People’s Justice Party (PKR) Deputy President said that seat negotiations among Pakatan would be finalised by September 30 while the process for Muda to join the coalition would continue.

“By September 30, we will have a full list of seats to contest among PKR, Democratic Action Party (DAP), Parti Amanah Negara and United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko),” said Rafizi.

On Muda’s application to join Pakatan, Rafizi said that it will need to go through the process and whatever the decision made by the Pakatan presidential council will not disturb the ongoing seat discussion.

“Questions on how Muda would work with Pakatan, that would be a matter to be discussed at the next stage. As such, I don’t see there will be any clashes of seat,” he said in a press conference after giving a speech at the Ayuh Malaysia programme on Saturday night.

He said this when asked if there would be any seat clashes with Muda as seen during the Johor state election.
