Muara Beach clean-up collects 1,000kg of trash

A total of 1,000 kilogrammes of trash was collected yesterday morning during the Marine Debris Beach Cleaning Campaign at Muara Beach Recreational Park, organised by the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) and its affiliated departments.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, the guest of honour, joined in the cleaning campaign.

Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, along with senior officials including permanent secretaries, acting permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries and ministry officials were also present.

The campaign, supporting the Executive Committee on Cleanliness Issues (JIIK), aims to increase public awareness on the impacts of marine debris, particularly plastic waste, on beach environments.

The initiative also sought to strengthen camaraderie and unity among the MoFE personnel. – James Kon
