Temburong District Muallaf Association (PESAT) president Ashim Amrullah bin Abdul Rahman Menchok recently outlined various activities to enhance the Hari Raya Adilfitri festivities.
In an interview with the Bulletin during the association’s Hari Raya visit to Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Ashim Amrullah shared their plans, which include visits to the residences of senior government officials, along with hosting festivities at the Temburong District Dakwah Unit.
He added that this year, in addition to inviting senior government officials, PESAT will extend invitations to muallaf associations from other districts.
He also expressed gratitude for the support and contributions that have facilitated the association’s growth and development, as well as aided their members.
During the holy month of Ramadhan, numerous government, private agencies, and non governmental organisations provided assistance to underprivileged PESAT members. He said these contributions enabled the organisation to organise various programmes and activities.
As Hari Raya continues, the association looks forward to fostering community spirit and spreading joy, he said.
Currently, the PESAT Association has around 200 members, comprising muallaf resided in Selapon, along Jalan Batang Duri, and Temada. – Rokiah Mahmud
