The Youth Religious Programme Secretariat, Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Asy-Syahadah Muallaf Youth collaborated with Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah and the Brunei-China Friendship Association in organising the Iftar Mahabbah programme at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong yesterday on Saturday.
The programme began with welcoming remarks and a briefing on Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah by Asy-Syahadah Muallaf Youth, followed with a tour of the mosque.
Muhammad Alimin bin Abd Wahid led the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa to mark the start of the Iftar Mahabbah programme.
Meanwhile, Qari champion of the Al-Quran reading competition for Converts Nationwide 2022 Muhammad Saiful Dafi bin Muhammad Suhaimi @ Suanddy bin Suhaimi proceeded with the recitation of Al-Quran verses. Youth Da’ie volunteer for the Youth Religious Programme at PDI Nabilah Lutfi Inshira binti Abdul Samad read the essence of the verses.
The event followed with welcoming remarks from Brunei-China Friendship Association President Dr Muhammad Firdaus bin Abdul Rahman, a presentation on ‘Understanding of Fasting in Chinese language’ by special grade clerk at PDI Siti Nur Jasmin Kim binti Abdullah and concluded with the breaking of fast and mass Maghrib prayer.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and spouse Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Awang Asbi were the guests of honour.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan; Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal; and Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Ra’es Associate Professor Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani were also present. – Lyna Mohamad
