The Ministry of Defence held a Khatam Al-Quran in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 78th birthday celebration at Surau Al-Huda, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was present at the event.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by readings from Al-Quran, Takhtim and Tahlil. The minister also presented mementos to the participants of the Khatam Al-Quran.
