Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, as the Co-chair of the Executive Committee for Major Islamic Calendar Events for 1445 Hijrah, yesterday attended a rehearsal for the National-Level Nuzul Al-Quran Celebration for 1445 Hijrah.
The event tonight at 9pm at the Plenary Hall of International Convention Centre in Berakas, will also see the announcement of winners of the National Level Al-Quran Memorisation and its Understanding Competition for 1445 Hijrah and an Al-Quran reading from representatives of each category.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid as the Chairman of Board of Directors of Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) and Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh were also present.
Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, permanent secretaries as well senior government officers and executive committee members were also in attendance.
This year’s event themed ‘Al-Quran Pedomanku’, is co-organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, RB and the MABIMS Centre for Al-Quran Studies and Dissemination. – Azlan Othman
