Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah engaged in an executive dialogue session with participants of the Civil Service Leadership Pipeline 2024 programme yesterday afternoon at the Civil Service Institute (IPA) in Kampong Rimba.
The minister provided insights into Brunei’s economic performance, the status of priority sectors, the critical role of technology and innovation in driving growth and diversification, and ongoing initiatives to boost the local economy.
Emphasising the importance of government officers in economic progress, the minister said, “In helping the country to move forward with its economic diversification, you play a vital role in implementing policies to support local businesses and encourage the younger generation to embrace lifelong learning as industries evolve and job demands change.”
The session, organised by IPA, saw the participation of 78 officers enrolled in the 31st Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO), 35th Executive Development Programme for Middle-Management Officers (EDPMMO), and 9th Young Executive Programme (YEP).
Centred on the theme ‘Economic Blueprint: Empowering Growth through Technology and Innovation’, the dialogue focused on Brunei Darussalam’s economic landscape and its development path toward achieving the third goal of Brunei Vision 2035 – a dynamic and sustainable economy.
The dialogue aimed to update participants on the nation’s economic direction and inspire them to contribute to the economic blueprint.
It also sought to enhance the capability of future leaders to meet the public’s evolving needs, particularly in the rapidly growing digital age. – James Kon
