The nightly Ramadan 1446 Hijrah Tedarus ceremony at the Istana Nurul Iman continued its sixth night last Thursday evening, with 800 participants in attendance representing the Ministry of Defence (MinDef).
In attendance were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof and Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.
Also in attendance were religious officers and teachers from the Department of Islamic Studies (JPI) and invited guests.
Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Suhaili bin Haji Metali Al-Hafis led the mass Isyak prayer and Doa while Sunnat Tarawih was led by Ustaz Mohamad Aizat bin Haji Ahmad from Institute Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB).
The ceremony then proceeded with a religious talk on “Fadhilat Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 1-5”.
The religious speakers for the male section was Religious Development Officer at Islamic Dakwah Centre (PDI) Ustaz Muhammad Salihan Bin Samra, while in the female section Religious Development Officer, Temburong Dakwah Unit PDI, Dayang Nurul ‘Ainbinti Mohd. Redzuan @ Jasmona anak Janteang delivered the talk.
The Tedarus Al-Quran followed after the talk and concluded with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The eventaimed to enliven and intensify acts of worship and religious activities throughout the holy month of Ramadhan. – Lyna Mohammad
