The body of a foreign national, who was believed to be a victim of a crocodile attack on Tuesday at Sungai Damuan, Jalan Mulaut in Kampong Bebatik, was found on Wednesday evening, said the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).
The body was brought to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital for post-mortem.
The Sengkurong Police Station received a report on the incident at 5.24pm on Tuesday, which prompted authorities to launch an investigation into the cause of the incident.
Personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) were also dispatched to the scene to carry out a search-and-rescue mission to locate the missing individual.
In light of the incident, the police also urged the public to take precautionary measures when carrying out activities in rivers or waterways.
