ANN/THE STAR – A man has been found dead at the entrance of a bank in Kota Kemuning, Malaysia and it is believed that he was killed when his neck was stuck when the shutters closed.
Shah Alam OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the police received information at about 7.29am yesterday that a man was found lying down in front of an entrance to the bank’s ATM area.
“Checks on CCTV revealed that the man is believed to have been drunk and was seen lying down in front of the area at about 11.48pm on Monday,” said ACP Mohd Iqbal.
“At 12.01am on Tuesday, the automatic shutters closed, causing his neck to be trapped between the shutter and the floor. The shutters opened automatically at 6am,” he added in a statement yesterday.
Medical personnel who were deployed to the scene declared that the man had died, he said.
“There were no other injuries on the victim’s body. No personal identification documents were also found. So far, there is no criminal element to the case,” he said.
ACP Mohd Iqbal said the case is classified as a sudden death.
