Make the most of da’ie gathering, participants told

Participants need to make the most of a da’ie gathering to discuss, share ideas, and renew their dedication to promoting the message of Allah the Almighty, Director of the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh said.

“Today’s event will inspire and motivate attendees that gatherings like this serve as a beneficial platform to strengthen efforts in upholding the kalimah of Allah the Almighty,” he said during a gathering of 200 da’ie from various institutions, which included the Dakwah Dissemination Division at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), the PDI, the Religious Department of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, certified da’ie of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council and youth participants from the MoRA’s Youth Religious Programme.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the guest of honour, highlighting the importance of enhancing dakwah efforts and community engagement through collaborative programmes such as these.

The two-day event, held at the PDI, aimed to provide a platform to enhance the quality and credibility of da’ie in the Sultanate.

The first session, themed ‘Dakwah and Social Media: Opportunities and Challenges’, emphasised the importance of social media as a modern platform for dakwah, focusing on the potential benefits and obstacles that come with using digital platforms for religious outreach.

Meanwhile, the Mentoring Da’ie Programme, led by Asma binti Harun, aims to enhance interaction between da’ie and scholars while empowering da’wah officers with skills to effectively deliver sermons.  – Fadley Faisal
