Brunei Darussalam women softball team Pasadena put the country in the regional spotlight after being crowned Premier Division champions in the highly-prestigious After Hour Women’s Slow Pitch Championship 2024 held in Jakarta, Indonesia recently.
The Brunei representative in collaboration with Malaysian outfit CB Queens defeated Geeks (Garuda Executive) 8-0 in a mouth-watering final under the spotlights of the GBK Softball Stadium.
Two teams from Brunei Darussalam featured in the competition with Divas – who finished fourth – also making an appearance.
The two local teams advanced to the knock-out phase after finishing in the top two places during the preliminary round.
The regional success marked the continued revival of Pasadena as a major force following a hiatus since 2013.
The team also secured a podium finish in the local scene at the end of last year after finishing second in the Brunei Open. – Fadhil Yunus
