Seven new books published by the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) were launched during the Islamic Literary Night in conjunction with the Pearl Jubilee celebration of the PDI on Monday.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman officiated the launch.
The seven books published included: Menjana Negara Sejahtera; Tokoh Ugama Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Haji Awang Mohd Zain bin Haji Serudin; Antologi Cerpen Taubat dan Istighfar; Himpunan Ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an dan Hadits Mengenai Rahmat Allah Kepada Hamba-Nya; Himpunan Ayat-Ayat Al-Qur’an dan Hadits Mengenai Perjalanan Hidup Manusia; Himpunan Ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an dan Hadits Mengenai Kezaliman; and Himpunan Do’a daripada Ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an, Hadits dan Para ‘Ulama.
The event organised by the PDI through its Research and Publication Division, is held every two years to enliven the celebration while promoting Islamic literature as a means of dakwah. As part of the event, the 1446 Hijrah/2024 Creative and Non-Creative Writing Competition received 73 entries, with winners awarded prizes and certificates during the ceremony. The evening also featured poetry recitations by the minister, followed by Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud and Southeast Asia Write Award recipient Professor Ampuan Dr Haji Brahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah. The event concluded with a theatrical poetry performance Gemilang Dakwah by the Youth Religious Programme Secretariat under the PDI. – Fadley Faisal
