Seventeen Student Representative Council members and 24 Youth Peer Guidance leaders from Tutong Sixth Form Centre recently concluded the QS Camp 2024, themed ‘Strong Mind, Strong Leaders’. The programme aimed to equip student leaders with knowledge and early awareness of the importance of holistic health, encompassing both physical and mental well-being.
The theme underscored the role of physical and mental health in shaping life patterns, particularly for student leaders. The three-day camp featured a variety of activities, including workshops on resilience, inclusive leadership and empathy. Participants also engaged in group activities such as gratitude circles, mindful eating through a cooking challenge, performance dance therapy, an amazing race team-building exercise, and a community service cleaning campaign. Religious talks and daily prayers enriched the programme, fostering spiritual reflection among the attendees.
The camp concluded with a prize and certificate presentation ceremony to recognise the efforts and participation of the student leaders. Organisers hope the programme would inspire creativity, teamwork, perseverance, and effective communication skills among the participants, enabling them to lead and serve their communities effectively. – James Kon
