Korea’s ‘The Glory’ third-most watched title on Netflix

(ANN/KOREA HERALD) — Netflix’s inaugural biannual report, “What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report,” unveiled that South Korean original series “The Glory” dominated as the third-most-watched global title in the first half of the year.

Garnering a massive 622.8 million hours viewed, encompassing both parts 1 and 2, the series made its mark on the streaming platform.

“The Night Agent: Season 1,” an action thriller from the United States, secured the top spot with 812.1 million hours viewed, while the American comedy drama “Ginny & Georgia: Season 2” claimed second place with 665.1 million hours viewed.

Korean productions continued to shine, with “Physical: 100: Season 1” ranking 15th, accumulating 234.8 million hours viewed in the reality competition category.

Following closely, the romance drama “Crash Course in Romance: Limited Series” clinched the 16th spot with the same hours viewed.

Netflix emphasised that success on its platform is diverse and not solely determined by hours viewed.

The streaming giant suggested utilising weekly Top 10 and Most Popular Lists, factoring in run times and premiere dates, for a more nuanced understanding of content popularity.

With 14 Korean titles securing positions within the top 100, Netflix encourages subscribers to explore the breadth of its content offerings.

The streaming service regularly updates Global Top 10 lists every Tuesday, categorised into “Film (English),” “TV (English),” “Film (Non-English),” and “TV (Non-English),” considering views in relation to total runtime.

Additionally, Netflix publishes the “Most Popular List,” highlighting the Top 10 titles in both English and Non-English categories based on views in their initial 91 days on the platform.
