Aside from hosting the ‘Brunei Bersih’ roadshow in schools, the dissemination of information and awareness on Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021 was conducted by Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department enforcement personnel on festive stalls in the capital in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday.
The awareness programme was held from July 17 to 20 where law enforcers handed out ‘Brunei Bersih’ brochures, posters and stickers to the public.
The programme aims to instil the concept of cleanliness in Islam and uphold the spirit of patriotism by ensuring that cleanliness is carried out by all levels of society as a national responsibility.
Among the objectives of the programme is to educate the public that they play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness efforts through education, teaching and guidelines. Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department said it is confident that the programme will make a significant impact during the royal celebrations. – James Kon
