Kampong Beribi Mosque Muslimah clinched the first spot in the nationwide nasyid competition at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah yesterday. Kampong Sungai Teraban Mosque Muslimah Guidance class came in second place.
Both mosques earned 80 points with their nasyid Allahu Ya Rabbi, with Kampong Beribi Mosque Muslimah declared winner for their vocals.
Pehin Khatib Abdullah Kampung Kulapis Mosque Muslimah Guidance Class took third place with 73 points for their version of Allahu Ya Rabbi.
Best Lyrics went to Kasih Darussalam, written by Mohd Taswim Rozan from Kampong Sungai Teraban, who also won Best Lyricist.
The competition, held as part of the upcoming National Day celebration, aimed to instil patriotism, boost confidence of the congregants and promote patriotic-themed nasyid songs.
