The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) during a joint operation with the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) detained a local man recently for allegedly possessing contraband for sale.
According to the RBPF, several officers and personnel from the Belait Police District led by Belait Police District’s Crime officer as well as officials from the Belait branch of RCED raided a house at RPN Kampong Panaga on Monday.
During the raid, a local man was found possessing five cartons of cigarettes believed to be for sale.
Meanwhile, Temburong Police Station personnel carried out a crime prevention operation at Dermaga Building, Pekan Bangar on Tuesday.
Following information received, a local man, selling vegetables, was found to be in possession of contraband.
The authorities seized 18 packs of cigarettes believed to be for sale. The seized contraband was brought to the RCED for investigation and action. The RBPF urged the public with information on criminal activities to inform the nearest police station or contact hotline 993. – James Kon
