Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Yoko Kamikawa visited the Brunei LNG Plant in Lumut yesterday marking a significant stride in strengthening diplomatic ties.
Brunei LNG Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hajah Farida binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib welcomed the Japanese delegates. The visit to the Brunei LNG Plant, a first from Japan’s foreign minister, was a testament to the partnership between Brunei
and Japan. It also underscored the crucial role Brunei LNG plays in fostering international cooperation and solidifying the friendship.
Introductions were made to Brunei LNG’s extended leadership team, followed by welcoming remarks from Hajah Farida who highlighted the history of Brunei LNG and how Brunei and Japan have benefited from the close collaboration over the decades.
The tour around the plant provided a comprehensive overview of Brunei LNG’s operations covering three pivotal assets – utilities, production and terminal – to ensure the seamless production and shipment of LNG, while emphasising the commitment to safety and environmental responsibility that defines Brunei LNG’s global leadership in the LNG industry.
