Four youth involved in agriculture made a courtesy call on Japanese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Maeda Toru yesterday.
The youth will be visiting Japan from November 19 to 25 under the ‘Brunei-Japan Agriculture Exchange Programme’ as part of the Japanese-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) programme. The Japanese ambassador told the participants to gain new skills during the tour. The participants are Zulfadhli Huzaimi, Wafiuddin Karim, Noor Asnny John and Abdul Azim bin Tujoh.
The participants will engage in a lecture on ‘Agricultural Land Improvement’ by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Tokyo and observe aquaponics technology at the Fujisawa Aquponi Village in Kanagawa prefecture.
They will also experience homestays in farmers’ houses and follow activities such as mandarin harvesting and farming. – Lyna Mohamad
