(ANN/KOREA HERALD) — K-pop sensation Itzy asserted their superstar status with the release of their latest mini-album, “Born to Be,” showcasing a bold and powerful identity.
Known for their theme of “respecting and loving oneself,” the group returns with their eighth EP, aiming to break boundaries and embrace newfound confidence.
At a Seoul press conference, Yeji shared insights into the album’s creation, emphasising their efforts to explore diverse music genres and challenge themselves with composing and writing lyrics.

“Born to Be” features the title track “Untouchable,” a dance-pop anthem infused with mid-tempo EDM and robust guitar sounds, symbolising resilience in the face of challenges.
Yeji elaborated, stating, “The title track sings about nobody being able to stop us from moving forward. We fight together against the difficulties we face living in this complicated world. I think the lead track best depicts our confidence.”
A noteworthy aspect of the album is the inclusion of solo singles for each member, a first for Itzy. Members took an active role in composing and writing the lyrics, contributing to the meaningful nature of the album.
Despite Lia’s temporary hiatus due to health concerns, the group continues their promotional activities with determination. Yeji expressed the group’s support for Lia and their commitment to showcasing growth upon her return.
Itzy’s upcoming second world tour, “Born to Be,” scheduled to begin in Seoul on Feb. 24-25, promises an electrifying experience with a new setlist, sidetracks from the latest album, mixed and arranged singles, and enhanced performances.
Chaeryeong encouraged fans to enjoy the elevated scale of their shows and witness the group’s evolution.
