ANN/THE KOREA HERALD – A fire erupted in Incheon, South Korea on Monday, spreading to three factories before firefighters managed to extinguish it.
No injuries or fatalities were reported, according to officials from the Incheon Fire Service yesterday.
The blaze originated at a temporary structure in the Seo-gu district of northwestern Incheon and spread to three neighbouring factories.
The factories were mostly empty as it was after business hours.
The only worker present at one of the factories managed to evacuate safely as the fire approached. Firefighters responded to the scene, deploying 140 personnel and 50 vehicles to combat the blaze. They successfully brought the fire under control four hours and 35 minutes after it began.
Authorities established a blockade around the area as they were concerned about the fire spreading further.
An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
