Imams in the Friday sermon called on congregants to maintain friendly ties with their neighbours by avoiding making noise or having excessive leisure activities late into the night, not to hurt feelings with inappropriate speech or behaviour as well as maintaining cleanliness in shared space and the neighbourhood.
Imams also urged the faithful to be considerate by clearing roadways and not allowing livestock and pets to roam.
“Noble neighbourly characteristics include being polite and courteous, asking about well-being, care for feeling, respect and offering help in time of difficulty. Help is not limited to financial and material assistance but also include physical aid and ideas,” they said. – Azlan Othman
