Radio Television Brunei (RTB) with Syarikat Suasana Mentari Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (SMES) hosted an iftar with orphans, underprivileged families and senior citizens in a hotel at Belait District on Wednesday.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Tahlil and Doa Arwah led by Haji Asmalee bin Haji Saidon followed by the handover of donations to 103 orphans, 50 underprivileged families and 10 senior citizens by Acting Director of RTB Haji Azman bin Haji Abdul Rahim, SMES Managing Director Yusof bin Haji Othman and SMES Chief Executive Officer Kelvin Kong.
Legislative Council members Yang Berhormat Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman and Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann with Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad and village heads were also present.
The ceremony is the final activity under Jalinan Kasih project.The the project has reach out and help underprivileged families across the country since 2009.
