‘Hypocrites will not gain blessings’

Assistant Religious Development Officer at the Temburong District Dakwah Propagation Unit Abdul Muiz bin Haji Amat highlighted a lesson learnt from Surah At-Taubah verses 67-69 at the 131st Munajat on Saturday.

“The verses highlight that hypocrites, be they men or women, are all alike. They enjoin what is evil, and forbid what is good, and withhold their hands from doing good deeds.

They forget Allah the Almighty and do not adhere to the obligations ordered by Allah the Almighty. They will not gain blessings and will receive dire punishment in the days of hereafter,” he said.

The Munajat, held at Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque in the Temburong District, began with Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.

Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, who is also village head of Kampong Labu Estate and Piasau-Piasau and other village heads were also present.

They were joined by officers and staff of ministries and congregants from nearly 60 mosques. Muslim converts with a delegation from the Islamic Da’wah Centre through the Munajat Safari to Bang Taomg Longhouse in Mukim Sukang, Belait District also participated.

The Munajat also saw the reading of Surah Yaasiin, Doa Munajat and Asma ul-Husanaa, and ended with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
