Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) in collaboration with the Asian Islamic Universities Association (AIUA) will organise the International Conference of Islamic Universities (ICIU 2023) on June 26 and 27.
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Chancellor of UNISSA accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office as the Pro-Chancellor of UNISSA, will grace the opening ceremony at Indera Samudera Grand Hall, The Empire Brunei on June 27.
This was announced during a press conference at UNISSA’s Senate Room fronted by Chairperson of the Working Committee of the ICIU 2023 Associate Professor Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad.
She said the seminar aims to share best practices and experience among institutions of higher learning to empower Islamic education for the needs of the 21st Century. It also seeks to strengthen collaboration networks to promote academic excellence and bring Islamic educational institution up to par with international benchmarks.
The two-day seminar will see a paper presentation by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned. There will also be local and international speakers from Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Qatar and Thailand.
